Q: When did you move to Richmond, Virginia and why?
Syd: I moved down to Richmond, Virginia recently in August, I was trying to get out of Fredericksburg and into the city!
Q: What is your favorite thing about living in Richmond, Virginia?
Syd: There’s so much community here, there’s a large queer population, it’s so diverse, and everyone knows each other! It’s very easy to make friends around here.
Q: What got you into doing hair?
Syd: College wasn’t really my thing, doing hair seemed interesting, and now I’m obsessed!
Q: What do you want to bring to the Richmond, Virginia hair scene?
Syd: Inclusivity, a safe space for guests, I just want to be everyone’s mom, best friend, hype girl, etc.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do behind the chair?
Syd: Any sort of big color transformation. I love making people feel like a baddy, and hair plays such an important role in that. It’s an energy/confidence thing.
Q: What’s your favorite fantasy color to do?
Syd: Oranges, like the Hayley Williams orange.
Q: What’s your favorite holiday and why?
Syd: New years for sure. It’s a fresh start. Everyones sparkly and ready to take on a the year ahead.
Q: What’s your favorite Starbucks order?
Syd: I’m actually a Dunkin girl! My go to is a medium cold brew with 2 pumps of vanilla and 2 creams.
Q: Who is your celebrity hair crush?
Syd: I love @colorbycarlos and @mermeghair. Their work is amazing.
Q: What’s one hair tip that you have for guests?
Syd: Theres so many, but leave-in conditioner is your best friend. Cold showers too.
